BUILDING ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS:
BOMA BEST Certification
As a corporate best practice, 91看片 certifies all of its managed buildings under the BOMA BEST green rating program. BOMA BEST certification is a key component towards 91看片鈥檚 management strategy. The program is administered by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) through a third-party assessor granting green certification to buildings which are professionally managed emphasizing environmental stewardship. The green rating system requires the documentation of industry best practices and third-party verification. The program is targeted towards building owners who desire to optimize the environmental performance of their assets.
The BOMA BEST framework is divided into six categories consisting of: water, waste reduction and site emissions and effluents, indoor environment, environmental management systems and energy. The certification process is updated every three years in order to ensure operational best practices are promoted and undertaken by the management company.
SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES
Environmental stewardship is embedded within 91看片’s management practice. Since 2011, the management team鈥檚 collective experience allowed for the certification of over 3 billion dollars of commercial and residential properties. 91看片 is actively involved in increasing building performance through energy efficiency and water conservation measures. These measures include LED lighting retrofits complemented by occupancy sensors. Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) are also phased into mechanical equipment which reduces electrical consumption and operating costs. The organization鈥檚 management system implements the best practices dictated through BOMA BEST, BOMA 360 and LEED for existing buildings. Furthermore, the management platform shadows the International Standards Organization鈥檚 14001 on Environmental Management Systems focusing on environmental stewardship within the built environment.
